Martha Pachón Rodríguez, heir to the Afro-Caribbean and Andean culture of her native Colombia, holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and Fine Arts from the Universidad Surcolombiana in Neiva, Colombia. She also specialized in Stoneware and Porcelain from the G. Ballardini Institute of Ceramic Art in Faenza, Italy.

She was a professor of Art Education at the Instituto Nacional de Educación (INEM) in Neiva, Colombia. Also, in Colombia, she was a professor of Ceramics for Sculpture at the Universidad Surcolombiana, a professor of Color Theory and Textile Design at the Corporación Universitaria CUN in Neiva. Furthermore she was co-founder and director of the Faenza Ceramic Art Center (FACC) in Faenza, Italy.

In addition to participating in international exhibitions and artist residencies, she has received several awards in Europe and Asia and is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC).

Recently, she has been selected by the MICHELANGELO FOUNDATION to be part of the HOMO FABER GUIDE and she has received the MAM Master of Arts and Crafts award from the COLOGNI FOUNDATION.
